Good to know

Everything you need to know before, during and after your pet's visit, so their beauty session goes smoothly.

Before your visit

A few things that help us plan the right groom for your pet.

Will you shave my double-coated dog?We don't shave double coats unless it's needed for your pet's health and with your prior consent.

Breeds like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians or Bernese have an undercoat that protects them from heat, cold and sunburn. Shaving it can damage how the coat grows back.

Instead we offer a de-shedding treatment that removes the loose undercoat and keeps your dog cool and comfortable.

What if my pet's coat is matted?Light knots are brushed out; heavy matting is shaved short for your pet's comfort. You will of course be informed beforehand.

Brushing out heavy mats is painful and stressful. When the coat is too matted, we choose comfort over looks and clip it short so it can grow back healthy.

De-matting takes extra time and is charged on top of the groom. We'll always talk to you before we start.

What if you find fleas or ticks? We'll give a flea treatment bath, charged as an extra, and let you know.

To protect every pet in the salon, any animal with fleas gets a flea treatment bath, and we fully clean and disinfect our space afterwards. Ticks we find are removed carefully.

Please keep your pet's flea and tick treatment up to date, and tell us if you've seen any.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated?Yes, vaccinations must be up to date. Please tell us about any health issues when you arrive so we can adapt.

Please let us know about allergies, skin problems, heart conditions, recent surgery or anything that might make grooming uncomfortable. Puppies can visit once their vaccinations are complete.

On the day

How drop-off, the groom and pick-up work at the salon.

How do drop-off and pick-up work?Arrive on time, and we'll send you a message when your pet is ready to go home.

Please take your dog for a short walk before the appointment. At drop-off we take a few minutes to talk about the cut you'd like and how your pet is doing.

We'll text you when your pet is ready. Please collect them within 30 minutes so they don't wait too long in the salon.

What if I'm running late? Please message or call us. If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten the groom or move it.

Each groom is planned so your pet is never rushed. If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may offer a shorter service or a new time slot.

What if my pet gets stressed? We go at their pace, take breaks, and stop if it's too much for them.

Our fear-free approach means short sessions, gentle handling and lots of treats. For everyone's safety we may use a soft muzzle, and if your pet is too anxious we'll stop and call you.
